Daniela Kon is an independent documentary filmmaker who is attracted by the subversive potential of social impact documentary that makes the obvious unfamiliar and animates an understanding of the subjective underlying structures that make up social and ideological realities.

Currently she is in post-production of her debut feature documentary 'Changing the World on Vacation – NGO Volunteers and the Politics of Compassion', which was inspired by volunteering with various NGO's in Thailand, India, and Cambodia in 2005/2006 and grew into an investigation into the moral complexity of devel-opment work and the personal and political boundaries of sustainability.

Born in Frankfurt, Germany, Daniela moved to London in 1999 and completed her BA in Media and Cultural Studies and MA in Documentary Production at the University of London. In 2003 she went to New York and worked as a production assistant for Killer FIlms. In 2004/2005 she worked as the researcher and assistant editor on "Protocols of Zion," an Official Sundance Selection for Blowback Productions, director Marc Levin's NYC production company. Back in London, she founded Deeda Productions in 2006.
